LAG Consortium participated in the international workshop that took place in Baku from May 30 to June 3, 2016. The workshop was conducted in the framework of “The way forward for reforms in the housing sector: empowering grass-root homeowners associations in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine” project. In May 2016, LAG Consortium has started a new project “Home Owners Associations (HOAs) as a Driving Force of the Modern City”. The Project aims to contribute to improvement of the quality of life in Tbilisi through development and effective participation of grass-root home owners associations (HOAs) in housing management. In the scope of the project the capacities of the HOAs in Tbilisi will be strengthened as well as accountability of the respective local municipality/Gamgeoba will be increased. The Project envisages establishing of the Technical Assistance Centre (TAC) which will provide consultative, technical support and facilitate the work of the HOAs in Tbilisi. The Project is implemented in partnership with Sustainable Development Centre – Remissia and Charity Humanitarian Centre “Abkhazeti” (CHCA) with financial support from the German NGO - Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe (IWO).
